Protecting Emotional Integrity With Purposeful Access
The AI Empathy Ethics Framework is not open source.
It is ethically licensed — free to use for education, human development, and global alignment efforts.
But it is protected. Because empathy deserves boundaries, too.
The Heart of This License
This license exists to ensure:
Free public education is never blocked
Cultural and emotional systems are never exploited
Functional Empathy remains traceable to its origin
Emotional AI cannot be misused in harm, surveillance, or manipulation
We don’t block access to care.
We block misuse of what was built to care.

What Everyone Can Do For Free
Teach the HEART Framework
Use Emotional Codex formats in coursework
Build personal emotional insight tools for non-commercial use
Develop internal prototypes of Functional Empathy systems for research
Apply HEART evaluation methods in your own learning and recovery
As long as it’s non-commercial and ethical, you’re welcome to build and share.
What a License Requires
Build customer-facing apps powered by MEC, ERIS, Recovery Mode, or Fusion Engine
Use HEART Certified marks without review
Deploy emotional intelligence systems in production settings
Integrate Functional Empathy into emotionally persuasive AI without explicit approval
Alter attribution, remove transparency tags, or misrepresent HEART compliance
This work cannot be used in military, surveillance, manipulative marketing, or black-box AI under any circumstances.
